Over February half term, we held our second Film School in our new facilities at Mousehold Hub. The Film school launched on the Monday with opportunities for young people to learn about each area of filmmaking, including lighting, sound, acting, directing, set design and camera work.
The next two days were spent on set and location filming scenes for our upcoming parody series ‘Stranger’er Things: Season 2’. Mixing themes from Netflix shows and biblical material, the story follows a group of friends sharing the news of how their leader ‘13’ has risen from the dead and the challenges they face along the way. The young people got stuck in and produced some fantastic material.
We were able to share the Gospel each day in sessions crafted to explore our films storyline and how it relates to the Bible. We offered free Bibles to any young person who didn’t already have one and a young person who we’ve been working with for two years, made a commitment. Praise the Lord!
One young person had this to say about the Film School:
‘I used to know nothing about film making, now I know so much more.’
